Music Monday: Some More Pride Asexual and Trans Song

Music Monday: Some More Pride Asexual and Trans Song

I have covered so much ground with this month’s Music Monday. Now it is time to follow the post about asexual reflections with some music that fits that vibe. I know pride is coming up for many of us. But I am going to do a final wrap up or final reflection piece Monday. Perhaps I will throw in some music. Not sure. Instead, for now, before the party, it is time to slow things down. After the buffet of a musical journey, time to focus on some lovely little treats. And provide you with some asexual themed songs. Originally I was thinking I would find nothing, so let’s see what I can dig up.

Never Been in Love by Will Jay (2018)

Let’s start off with what people consider an asexual and aromantic anthem. It is short, catchy, and sweet. It is a pop song and quite a good one. Yeah, I really don’t have much to say here. It is from an independent artist and does the job.

Will Jay does not like labels but ended up saying pansexual. He also went on to find himself a girlfriend too not sure if they are still together. Finding music that fits is quite hard given the subject matter.

As with often the case with writing sometimes things don’t go according to plan.

Home by Cavetown (2015) I found this looking for asexual songs but instead. Seem to have found trans experience song. Aristist that written it is trans and well hard not to say it their experience in the music. This an indie artisti. Musci video is pop up book with pages opening up the lryics. Effort that must have went into that. But listening to this song you can feel it. Strangely bit relatable even to cis folks about having body issues. Talks about persona snexity, self accpetnace and idefinty. It a concession song and really quite breauflity. Just had to include it.

Given the lengths along with the deep dives I have done on other posts, this being shorter makes sense. Both songs really good should be listened to before pride.
