Some warframe thoughts coming your way.  Certain parts of the game have criticism about.

  • Archwing
  • Warframe slots
  • Syndicates

Weapons – No idea which ones are good.  No easy way to compare each one.

Alerts – Not worth the time credits gained are tiny.  Only certain items rewarded which make make worth your time.

Archwing – Camera angle constant moving is frustrating.

Warframe slots – Feel forced to buy or earn platinum.  Farming certain items to sell.

Syndicates – Non interactive acting more like alerts.  Credit gained are tiny like alerts.

Unable replay quests – Digital Extremes been reviewing allowing this.

Mod reward tables – Need to view outside source to find reward tables.

Warframe thoughts

Time to discuss Digital Extremes free to play title Warframe.  Genre wise 3rd person action co-op shooter game. Focus is largely on resource collection.  Players are pitted against the environment. Battling various computer controlled enemies.  Each level dropping various resources.  Players can use these resources to craft items.  Players can share resources as clans building specialists items.  Science friction based world set in earth solar system.  Combat is low skill floor can have high skill ceiling. Detailed damage model for all playstyles.  Movement system used offensively or defensively.   Featuring heavy amount of parkour.

Digital Extremes has expanded on the original concept.  Warframe has transformed nothing like the base game.  Formula farm craft better items with fast combat.  Steady flow of updates has kept the player base. Sustaining large dedicated playerbase without significant attention.   Niche success many did not expect to happen. Face value the title looks boring.  Warframe is charming with minor things making players come back. Core feedback loop plus solid community makes warframe worth investing time in.  Opposite end compared to minecraft much more depth. Game does not provide mod support has much more base content.  Comparisons end due fundamental concepts being different.

Biggest problem game becomes rather grindy.  Slow resource collection with random drop rates. Reward tables are not displayed, limited amount information given.  Enjoy playing levels over constant grinding for loot.  Every planet has own design,  levels are procedurally generated.  Feel forced grinding premium currency.  Pigeonhole players due limiting inventory space.  Serious lack of inventory space feels like artificial limit.

Conclusion

Resources play key part in warframe.  Gameplay mechanics are secondary in the feedback loop. Various planets to visit each with different titleset.   Low amount of inventory space feel forced buy premium currency.

Started to play Warframe on playstation 4.  Here some thoughts on the game.

Describing Warframe 3rd person action shooter free to play loot finder game. I think this is the best way to describe the design. Focus is entirely around numbers, finding right items in random loot table world. Featuring crafting system collect resources building new items don’t need always farm levels. Game core goal is item collection. Does feature lore feels trapped on. Combat is interesting blind dumb constant enemy waves. Biggest problem combat mechanics feel unnecessary. Point and shot constant waves sort of game. Biggest complain is empty combat being honest. Various unexplored possible routes combat could go.  Various ideas which could be expanded on.

Enjoy playing it however won’t be spending money.  Feels unfinished unrefined compared to many other titles.  Base game not bad with some decent quests even if they locked away hidden.  Shame can’t replay quests again.  Game is grindy one major time sink.

Warframe – First Impressions

Started to play Warframe here is my new player experience.  Warframe is fun game which is nonlinear and key problem not clear how progression works. Combat is interesting but farming is not.  Pretty much forced to use the Warframe wiki to find out what to do.  Like the game but find the grindy nature with dumb AI makes combat boring.  Sums up my experience with Warframe and frankly can’t see the appeal.  Short to the point curious if anybody enjoys the game or just the farming.

Wanted this post to be longer but decided against it can’t find much else to say.  Unsure even want to play it anymore.
