A Corner of the Internet: 500 Posts On

500 published posts.

I’ve never really marked milestones, but this one feels worth it. I’m not even sure how many people read this tiny corner of the internet. I don’t broadcast it or advertise it  just share the odd post here and there.
But if you do read, or have done in the past thank you for putting up with me.

I almost skipped writing this, but decided to do something different.
So here goes nothing.

A Corner of the Internet: 500 Posts On

Started as a hobby, just curious to learn
Then I moved to WordPress, gave up for a while
Learning how to publish and write
Soon it morphed — releasing my thoughts

Before everything went wild with algorithms
My little corner, I kept the lights on
During the dark times
Never wanting it to go away

I found the light again and made it past the worst of it
But I was never happy, never fully comfortable sharing
So I retreated back into my corner, away from it
Perhaps I shared too much — I don’t know

What I do know is I’ve grown more confident
Found my spark in the dark, when things were at their worst
I locked everything away — and got locked inside myself when the worst hit

I lost my desire to play video games
I made a great friend and drifted away again from everybody
I struggled, and found hope again here
Writing with purpose and point

Improving my skill and talent for writing over time
Now, after 500 posts, I still have more to give
Proud of what I’ve done so far
The power of essay and word

Restarted old habits that are good for the soul
Found my ability to draw again and create
Now the pen is busy, and there’s more to write in me
Like that schoolchild who discovered his voice because of a screen

Two or more laptops later
Various video game passions, more music than I can count
Still loving one or two artists
A furry friend by my side
And 500 posts later, it’s finally time to close this chapter
