From the complex history of how we name the Lunar New Year to the simple act of wearing red or sharing fusion food, this post explores the thin line between cultural appreciation and the ‘madness’ of a world moving toward something new. It’s a return to my roots—an honest look at why sharing culture is the ultimate act of success in a world that feels a bit mad at the moment.

Bungie’s Marathon: A March Release and a Massive Gamble

So, it looks like Marathon is finally due to hit us this March 5th. I’ve written about this game twice now, covering my first impressions and that initial reveal, and if I’m being honest, I haven’t exactly been their biggest cheerleader. To put it bluntly: I’ve previously argued this game shouldn’t even exist. I felt like Bungie didn’t understand the extraction genre, treating its core features like bugs rather than hooks. I’m not convinced it will find the massive success it needs, though it might find some.

80% Fewer Categories, 100% More Sanity

I’ve spent a few hours doing some long-overdue housekeeping on the site. Yes, sadly, it took that long thanks, past me.

The main job was dealing with categories and tags, reducing the overall number. Over the years, well… I’d grown lazy. Things got a bit messy and overlapping, and it was making stuff harder to find — for readers and for me. For anyone curious: categories are down from 52 to 8, and tags from 124 to 52. So roughly an 80% reduction in categories and about half the tags gone. Thrilling stuff. Truly peak admin work.
