3% is a Brazilian dystopian thriller series created by Pedro Aguilera.  Netflix’s first Brazilian original production.  Set in a world wherein people seek a better chance.  Divided between affluence and poverty.  Season 1 only 8 episodes, short but long enough.  Keeping certain plot points unexplained. Longer series can suffer failing to tell a story.   Shortness helps keep the series contained.  Small scale budget can be noticed.   English dub clearly done post production.  World building is limited with focus on story development.  Not every character has the same motivation.  Strong focus on moral choices between each character.

Budget brazilian production has capture my heart.   Far stronger compared to hungry games movies.  Low budget forces production to focus on important elements.  Result is fulfilling experience telling dark story.  Narrow focus avoids the story breaking apart under it own weight. Little early series could become obvious cult classic.
